Rylee Jean growing like a weed, and smiling too!
Retirement... the perfect shade of pink!
Retirement at the age of 27, not really my thing. A whole lot of nothin' has been goin down in here.
Finished another book, "Girls guide to Hunting and Fishing", very cute and an easy read. I also bought "Gum thief" by Douglas Coupland which i am excited to get started on. Hopefully Mark will have his paper back in the next couple of days so that we can finish this job. Which at that point we are going to start our three week tour of all the Western Canadian Hot Spots.
Oh yeah, REMEBER TO VOTE-- OCTOBER 14TH!!!!

Can't wait for spring
I took this picture last spring or summer at an old farm yard on a piece of my dads land. This stone wall surrounded the entire house and was about waist high. It was just very vibrant. After this week of blizzards and minus thirties and forties, i can't wait until things are alive again! Stay warm.
Back at it
I know it has been months, but there are many things that are going on! The most exciting, i am an auntie again. Mason Elizabeth was born on January 9 at 930 am MST. She was 8 pounds and very healthy. I can not wait to see her.
On another note i have become an activist to try an save my university education and the college that i am currently enrolled in. The Anthropology department at the University of Saskatchewan has encountered some difficulties in obtaining faculty largely due to the ignorance of the administration and their failure to acknowledge that human studies is a vital component of any university. However, our Dean of Arts and Science can be quoted as knowing only this about anthropology "it is bones and stones, sticks and stuff"- does this not just shout out ignorance! To top it all off she is not interested in learning what it is we as anthropologists do, she is comfortable enough just thinking that Sociology will do. We have also been told that we are not marketable enough, and that is why our program can no longer be sustained. All the students are outraged! Why do the administration believe that they can and will be the Harvard of Canada? This will not serve the purpose of the Saskatchewan residents. It is really disgusting to think that my increasing levels of tuition are being spent on these endeavors as well as sustaining projects such as the Canadian Light Source.

been back for a while now
well it has been an interesting journey being back in Saskatoon and trying to readjust. it is so quite here and kind of lonely. I could walk down the street in complete silence forever it seems. It is also sad that every time i walk pass someone they don't even smile or try not to notice they have come in contact with another human being. The little i could understand in China, i could really pick up on the way people would look you in the eye and smile. It was nice to be able to understand people and not say anything- the human connection.
